AVEVA Extends Subscription Access Across Industrial Software Portfolio

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Oct. 4, 2017 – AVEVA, the leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, today announced an expansion of the company’s subscription license model – Subscription Access – that includes greater value, new benefits and access to more industrial software applications. Customers choosing this offering can benefit from reduced upfront costs, ease of license fee management, access to exclusive products, bundled capabilities and a lower total cost of ownership. Subscription Access is now available when purchasing Engineering, Planning, Operations and Asset Performance, as well as Control and Information software solutions.

Industrial organizations must constantly seek ways to reduce costs and complexity while realizing the full value of their IT and OT system investments. Subscription software licensing models are now gaining popularity to improve upfront cash flow while offering an easier way to manage licenses when the number of active users fluctuates over time, such as within enterprise environments.

AVEVA is an early adopter of the subscription-based model for industrial software. Using an à la carte approach, Subscription Access gives buyers greater flexibility to choose precisely the software applications and scale that is needed. Future software licenses can be easily added to an existing agreement, simplifying how new functionality or users are added or removed. Upfront costs are replaced with annual payments spread over the term of the agreement. As a result, capital expenditures are replaced with ongoing operating expenses, helping better align cost to value while easing approval processes for Operations Technology (OT) purchases.

“Manufacturing and Infrastructure organizations must simultaneously preserve cash flow, drive innovation and invest in new digital technologies to drive digital transformation, continuous improvement and Industrial IoT initiatives,” said Paul Trapani, Director, Subscription Access at AVEVA. “With Subscription Access, AVEVA software customers can achieve each of these objectives while improving operational agility. Lower up-front costs and the ability to precisely purchase software licenses as needed releases funds that can now be invested to accelerate business transformation strategies.”

AVEVA offers a range of technologies and solutions that enable both commercial and technical flexibility, delivered through a range of technical deployment models (Cloud, Hybrid, On-Premise) and commercial purchase options (Subscription, SaaS, Perpetual) to address the range of our customer’s needs.

Every industrial manufacturing and infrastructure organization stands to benefit from Subscription Access:

  • Reduces complexity and cost with greater precision to “right size” software purchases
  • Improves affordability of enterprise solutions, which might have previously been considered unattainable by smaller firms or remote plants
  • Unlocks access to exclusive offers, including unlimited supervisory clients and cloud-based application development
  • Simplifies how to pay for and manage software licenses in circumstances where the number of active users fluctuates over time
  • Right-sizes software purchases by buying just the licenses you need, as an à-la-cart approach to software licensing

Subscription Access includes AVEVA’s Customer FIRST customer support and maintenance program, which provides access to award-winning technical support and comprehensive software upgrades and maintenance to ensure industrial software solutions remain current and secure.
