Goals

  • To achieve automatic data collection, real-time processing and display of information from the metering points in graphical and tabular form. 
  • Control over reliability of the information coming from the sensors and systems. 
  • Registration and storage of information on controlled parameters. 
  • Audible and visual alarm for process and system violations. 
  • Presentation of current information to operational staff, and other users in the form of mimic diagrams, operational and accounting documents, schedules, etc. 
  • Automatic calculation and representation of commodity balances (including snapshots) for each redistribution. 
  • Operational control of the production load.

Challenges

  • An evaluation of the existing accounting methods used for material flow and corporate balance sheets, as well as the examination of the importance of the given tasks in the understanding of the quality of the technological process, highlighted the necessity for the development and introduction of a new system. 
  • Measuring accuracy should satisfy all modern commercial requirements, with full automation of accounting and balance functions.

Results

  • The implementation of the project benefitted BSC specialists with a single interface for all production stages. 
  • There is now a concise, comprehensive model detailing the entire production process. 
  • Easy integration of pre-existing automated production Systems was possible. 
  • Single multi-user object-oriented development environment, system deployment and maintenance was benefitted. 
  • High-performance database updates in real-time. 
  • New client-server architecture for the creation of dispatch interfaces.
  • Reduced loss of raw materials that balances on each redistribution during processing by the system. 
  • Qualitative distribution of finished products by grade type. 
  • Reduction in the number of emergency stops through MRO equipment forecasting. 
  • Operational and maintenance personnel have been freed up.

STERLITAMAK, Russia – JSC Bashkir SodaCompany was founded in Russia in May 2013 through the merger of JSC Soda and JSC Caustic. Today, JSC BSC is one of the largest chemical companies in the country.

The company is Russia’s biggest producer of soda ash and sodium bicarbonate, and is the country’s second biggest PVC producer. It also ranks among the country’s top three producers of caustic soda as well as being one of the leading manufacturers of cable compounds.
