Accelerate Process Design Using a Unified Simulation Platform for FEED
Do you want to improve employee efficiency and productivity? Equip your engineers with the best tools to effectively execute their process designs. Fluor, knowing the importance of getting the most from their employees and their technology, tasked Lei Lei Liu with modeling an intricate cooling water system in a new process simulator. In just weeks, with no previous training, she had built the model.
The idea behind this new tool, SimCentral Simulation Platform, is to replace multiple point solutions; making seamlessly transitions between steady state models, hydraulic calculations, and dynamic simulation, whenever the user chooses. Once Lei Lei had completed her base case, she developed the hydraulic model within the same tool, added custom models to improve calculations, and ran case studies to evaluate dependencies between variables. Since the initial project, she has expanded the closed loop model and transitioned to dynamics to better understand how the process will respond to real life conditions.
SimCentral Simulation Platform is as a way for process engineers in oil and gas, refining, utility and chemical industries to streamline process design, collaborate for process improvement and simplify modeling complexity. Engineers can reduce time and cost by accelerating process simulation and design. In this webinar, Lei Lei Liu, a 2017 new graduate hire at Fluor Corporation, shared how to maximize the benefits by using one simulation tool to do rigorous steady-state, hydraulics, and dynamic modeling, and how fast this can be done in SimCentral Simulation Platform.
