Ensure Stable and Robust Operation while Saving Cost and Time

Compressor surge is a form of aerodynamic instability in axial and centrifugal compressors involving airflow oscillations in the axial direction which could result in blade fatigue or even mechanical failure.

Design methods are initiated by doing 'steady-state' calculations. However, due to the dynamic nature of the phenomenon and control responses a high-fidelity dynamic simulation of the compressor system is required for a rigorous design.

Running multiple dynamic scenarios for different configurations in order to identify the optimal design requires a considerable amount of time.

  • complete a multi-objective optimization of a general-purpose multistage compressor model,
  • integrate modeFRONTIER and AVEVA Dynamic Simulation (formerly DYNSIM),

Andrea Macri is the Product Manager for AVEVA Dynamic Simulation and AVEVA Control Emulations products. After joining the Company in 2008, his first assignment was to start the OTS business in Cairo. He later joined the simulation team in Madrid successfully delivering more than twenty Operator Training Simulators (OTS) and dynamic studies. He graduated as Chemical Engineer at the Politecnico di Milano and he completed the Maîtrise program in Génie Chimique at École Polytechnique de Montréal.

Simone Genovese received his Master's Degree in Computer Science Engineering at the University of Pisa in 2012. The same year he started working at ESTECO SpA. as a developer for modeFRONTIER. In 2016 took the role of Software Architect. He took part in different research projects to support pre-sales and post-sales activities in the Japanese market. Currently lives in Tokyo and is appointed as ESTECO Project Manager for the Asian Market.
